Hush Gala: Through the Looking Glass
|
|
|
Dan and I recently had the opportunity to attend the Hush Gala downtown at the Eau Claire Sheraton. It’s an annual event hosted by Cerebral Palsy Alberta to raise funds and awareness for individuals with cerebral palsy and other
disabilities. The first gala was held in 2007; it was such a huge success that it quickly became an annual event. Each year there is a new and exciting theme and some very cool entertainment, epic silent auction action and extraordinary food.

This is the first year Dan and I have been involved with Cerebral Palsy Alberta and the Hush Gala. We were asked to sponsor the event through an ‘in kind’ donation of signage and graphics. We had been looking for a local charity to partner with, so it was a no brainer for us to jump on board.

|
|
We created over 55 different pieces to support the theming of the event. This year, it was ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ – and all of the elements were connected to Alice In Wonderland. The graphics were professionally designed by David Royer of Dream Rocket Media and they were top notch! The largest piece was a supersized backdrop decorated with colourful characters from the white rabbit to the queen of hearts.

The event raised over $75,000 to support the vital programs and services Cerebral Palsy Alberta provides for individuals in the disability community. If you’d like to learn a little bit more about the great work the CPAA does, then I would invite you to watch this video, called 'Count on Me'. At about the three minute mark, look for the performance from the music therapy program – I’ve seen this performance five times now and it gets me every time. It is absolutely beautiful!

The Hush Gala will roll around
again next October, but if you want to get involved with Cerebral Palsy Alberta before then you absolutely can:
· Follow them on social media (Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram) ·
Visit their webpage and check out the events and get involved tabs · Donate either money,
your car or other used items!
I hope you join us and get involved with a local community charity – the reward is infinite.
And of course, if you'd like to learn more about visual communication solutions that will help grow your business, visit our webpage.
